Invisible Pink Unicorn by sethness Invisible Pink Unicorn by sethness
A tessellation based on the "Invisible Pink Unicorns" mock-religion [link]

The "Invisble Pink Unicorn" is a spoof of theology's weak reasoning. For example, a genuine religion might say "Our deity is all-powerful, looks like man, controls the whole universe and loves us and wants us to choose between good and evil. Yet 'he' chooses to remain unseen, allows evil in the world, and hasn't performed an indisputable miracle in quite a long while." This is what's called a "waterproof hypothesis"-- creating a self-reinforcing hypothesis that, by its very nature, cannot be tested. Likewise, the "believers" in the Invisible Pink Unicorn say that the unicorn is both pink and invisible-- it cannot be seen or felt, yet its "adherents" claim it exists and is pink.

From the website:
The "believers" famous sayings about faith in the invisible pink unicorn is that, like other religions, it is founded in science (koff-koff-koff~sethness) and faith. Science - that states that she must be invisible, since we cannot see her. Faith - because we know in our heart that the invisible pink unicorn exists. This is of course a parody of the theological reasoning of other religions.

My tessellation shows the Unicorn in both pink and invisible forms, with a big question mark to raise doubts.

Actually, YES, the silly and self-contradictory nature of religious thinking is the whole reason that the "invisible pink unicorn" spoof-religion got started....much like the Flying Spaghetti Monster or Bertram Russell's Teapot.

I think when they talk about the pink unicorn, they are talking about a penis. [flawed theology or oxymoron?] In the bible, the unicorn was left behind by noah because there weren't two of them :lmao:

Really, the bible mentions unicorns specifically, as an animal that didn't make the cut at the flood? Hmmm... then I wonder why Europeans seemed to believe that unicorns existed-- or were the europeans just playing withthe mythology, the same way we play with Santa Claus and Easter Bunny stories?

Dunno about anything phallic in the Invisible Pink Unicorn "religion". If it's there, I haven't read it yet. I just assumed that they chose unicorns because they're obviously mythic.

I admit,it sounds funny, like a toy for little girls. I can easily imagine pink unicorn toys in atoystore next to "mylittle pony" dolls.

However, "invisible pink unicorn" is not something I made up,nor intended for kids. It's a mock religion, like the Flying Spaghetti Monster. Check it out: [link]
