Motherload Unlimited dashboards by sethness

These are the two dashboards that appeared at the bottom of the screen during the 2007/2008 2D game "Motherload Unlimited", which was loosely based on XGen's Flash game, "Motherload" and "Motherload Goldium".

XGen's game had no dashboard, but we wanted this version to track the status ("health") of several drilling rig components, radiation levels, heat, and so on.

Each dashboard is a combination of several graphics: there was the base level, with the flat plate of metal and most icons on it. Laid over that were semi-transparent red "levels" that indicated how much fuel remained, how much radiation you'd been exposed to, how full your cargo hold was, and so on. Laid on top of that was the top layer art: the arched ridge on top of the dashboard, the rims around the dashboard gauges, and so on.

I was aiming for the look of the lumpy spray-enamel coating that gets put on industrial machines, with a sort of car-like dashboard and simple guages. I tried to put all the "More is better" gauges on the left, and the "more is a bad thing" gauges on the right.
