In this article, Baz describes the unreality of Thailand's attractions. The most beautiful, statuesque, well-dressed women aren't women: they're "katoey" crossdressers. The "land of smiles" is the land of crocodilian grins, eager to part you and your money, leaving you to whimper home like a living banana peel. Seemingly harmless jetski rentals are fake-injury scams to extort a thousand dollars out of each tourist-victim.

Yet, foreign military ships line up in port to get fleeced. If only they put the same planning and caution into their vacation, that they do into their jobs!
